Creek, Fawley on Sunday 1st February a cheque for £700 was presented to Joshua
Edwards by the club Vice Chairman, Ken Williams,as a donation
to the trust fund set up in his Joshua's name to
provide funding for his future well being and comfort.
In December 2006 at the age of 11, Joshua, a local
lad from Hythe, became ill with a condition called
'Spontaneous Spinal Epidural Haematoma', a rare condition,
of which only 27 cases were known.

This illness has resulted
in Joshua being confined to a wheelchair for the rest of
his life. The members of the Ashlett Club having noted
Joshua's condition, were so impressed with his bravery
and cheerfulness decided that they would support his trust
fund with
proceeds from the weekly meat draw held on each Sunday
at Ashlett as from February 2007, thus far they have contributed
in excess of £3000. A club member, Ken Creighton,
aged 71, shall carry out a sponsored Sky Dive on Joshua's
behalf later in the year and Suzanne Greaterex-Day
from Fawley shall seek sponsorship when she runs for
Joshua in the London Marathon in April.
