The Ashlett club have raised money for charity for many years and are pleased to support Joshua Edwards.

A presentation of a cheque for £1000 was made on Sunday 25th February by Vice-chairman, Ken Williams at the Ashlett Club, Fawley to young Joshua Edwards of Hythe. Joshua, a young lad, who only started as a pupil at Noadswood School at the beginning of the autumn term in September is, as a result of illness, now a patient at the Stoke Mandeville Hospital and permanently confined to a wheelchair. A trust fund has been established to try and raise the estimated one million pounds it will take to care for him over his total lifetime.

Charity Presentation at the Ashlett Club 2006.

The committee of the Ashlett Club at Fawley (part of the Waterside Sports & Social Club) made a decision to support the appeal and allocated the sum of £1000 from the club's charity fund, money which is principally raised through the means of the club's weekly meat-draw prize competitions. By good fortune, Josh was well enough to come home for the weekend to his Mum and Dad, Colin and Alison and so was able to attend the presentation together with his Nan, Carol Edwards and all his siblings. The appearance of Josh had not been expected and was a very pleasant surprise; he and all his family received a very warm welcome from the club's committee as well as from the membership. Following the presentation of his cheque, Josh drew out the first lucky punter's ticket in the weekly meat-draw, one member of his family won a prize to take home and the reported earnings for the club's charities were £73.
