Hythe Strikers Youth Football Club was formed in 1984 by a group of interested parents to provide boys living in and around the Hythe area the opportunity to play organised club football.
Since those early days the club has steadily grown until now we have a membership of just under 200 boys and girls with ages ranging from 5 to 16 years and our recruitment area has expanded to cover the entire Waterside. The club was a founder member of the Southampton Tyro League and currently have thirteen teams playing in various leagues plus a Junior Soccer School for those children not yet old enough to play in the teams.
We have recently been awarded the Football Association Community Standard Club status. This means that our club meets the strict criteria laid down by the FA on items such as coaching standards and club administration. We are the only club on the Waterside to achieve such a high standard and one a handful in the county to have achieved such a high and prestigious award.
Our coaches have attained a minimum of the FA Level 1 Coaching Certificate. This certificate covers instruction on Child Welfare and Child Protection, First Aid and of course, football coaching skills.
We have codes of conducts for Managers, Players, Spectators and Team Officials as well as an Equal Opportunities Policy and an Anti -discrimination policy. As a youth football club we act as a feeder to several local senior football clubs once our players leave us at age 17.
